Yagodina is a pleasant Rhodope village known for its underground and overground natural beauties. The Yagodina Cave (Yagodinska Peshtera) is one of the longest and most beautiful caves in Bulgaria. On a well-maintained path, visitors can explore over 1,100 meters of the total 10 kilometers of galleries, which are rich in stalactites, stalagmites, and rare cave pearls. A special highlight is the 'Ritual Hall', where weddings are often held. Above the village is the 'Eagle's Eye' (Orlovo Oko) viewpoint, a steel platform that hangs over a 600-meter-deep abyss. From here, there is an unparalleled view over the Rhodopes, stretching to the Rila and Pirin mountains, as well as into Greece. The ascent is possible on foot, but most visitors choose a thrilling 4x4 off-road drive over the steep mountain paths. The drive to Yagodina passes through the Buynovo Gorge, the longest in Bulgaria, where the rocks in some places stand so close together you can almost touch them. The village itself features cozy guesthouses where guests can enjoy traditional Rhodope cuisine. Yagodina is the first-rate place for adventure seekers and nature lovers who want to experience the dramatic landscapes of Southern Bulgaria.
