Dobroslavtsi is a significant village in the Sofia Plain, located about 15 kilometers north of the city center of the Bulgarian capital. The settlement gained prominence primarily through the former Dobroslavtsi Military Airbase, which was one of the most important bases for the Bulgarian Air Force during the Cold War. It was home to MiG fighter jets tasked with defending the airspace over Sofia. Following the base's closure, the village's character has increasingly shifted toward becoming a preferred residential area for commuters seeking peace outside the big city. The surrounding area is characterized by vast agricultural lands typical of the Sofia Basin. In the village center stands the Church of Saint Nedelya, serving as a cultural hub for the approximately 1,100 residents. Today, Dobroslavtsi combines a rich military history with the modern development of a suburban settlement. Its good connection to Sofia's transport network makes it a dynamic part of the capital region.
