Banya, often referred to as Karlovo Banya, is a prominent spa resort in central Bulgaria, situated in the Rose Valley. The town is famous for its more than 10 thermal mineral springs, which have temperatures ranging from 35 to 51 degrees Celsius and are known for their healing properties. Historically, the area has been used for balneotherapy since Roman times, and in 1929, the Royal Palace of Tsar Boris III was built here, serving as a summer residence for the Bulgarian royal family. The town is surrounded by the Sredna Gora and Balkan Mountains, providing a scenic backdrop and a mild climate conducive to health tourism. In addition to its mineral waters, Banya is a center for viticulture and the production of rose and lavender oils, which are staples of the region's economy.
