Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge (Brunei)

Weather…

The Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge, widely known as the Temburong Bridge, is a monumental infrastructure achievement in Brunei. Spanning approximately 30 kilometers, it is the longest bridge in Southeast Asia. It was opened to the public in March 2020, earlier than planned, to facilitate travel during the pandemic and provide a direct link between the Temburong enclave and the rest of the nation. Previously, Temburong was only accessible via a long boat ride or by driving through Malaysian territory. The bridge crosses the Brunei Bay and was constructed with strict environmental standards to preserve the surrounding mangroves and rainforests. Driving across it has remarkable views of the sea and Borneo’s dense jungle canopy. This engineering marvel stands as a symbol of national unity and Brunei’s rapid technological advancement in the 21st century.
