Zürs am Arlberg is one of Austria's most prestigious winter sports resorts. Located at 1717 meters on the Flexen Pass, the village provides direct access to the Ski Arlberg area, the largest contiguous ski region in the country. The architecture is characterized by upscale hotels, often located directly on the slopes. Tourists visit Zürs primarily for the excellent snow quality from November to May and the relative tranquility compared to neighboring Lech. The White Ring (Der Weiße Ring) is a legendary ski circuit connecting Zürs with Lech and Zug. Away from the slopes, gourmet restaurants and exclusive wellness facilities can be found in the first-class establishments. Access is usually via the Arlberg Pass or the Arlberg Tunnel, with snow chains often required in winter. Culinarically, Vorarlberg specialties like Kässpätzle dominate, often interpreted at the highest level. The best time to visit is mid-winter for skiers and late spring for sun worshippers on the terraces.
