Victory Park (Armenia)

Weather…

Victory Park, also known as Haghtanak Park, is situated on the Kanaker-Zeytun hill and is dedicated to the victory of the Soviet Union in World War II. The most prominent feature of the park is the monumental 'Mother Armenia' statue, which was erected in 1967 to replace a former monument to Joseph Stalin. The statue stands 22 meters tall on a 30-meter high pedestal that houses a military museum. The park also includes an amusement park with rides, an artificial lake, and the Monument to the Unknown Soldier with an eternal flame. From the park's observation deck, visitors can enjoy one of the best panoramic views of all Yerevan and Mount Ararat. During the Soviet era, the park was a symbol of military strength and national pride; today, it is a favored leisure spot for families. Numerous alleys and memorials invite visitors for a stroll through the layers of Armenia's history.
