Weather…

Punta Tombo in Chubut province is home to the largest continental colony of Magellanic penguins in the world. Every year in September, hundreds of thousands of these charismatic birds return to this strip of Patagonian coastline to nest, hatch their eggs, and raise their young before returning to the sea in March. The reserve has been designed so that visitors can walk on marked trails right through the colony, allowing for an exceptionally close encounter with the penguins in their natural habitat. It is a fascinating spectacle to observe the birds in their daily activities: building their nests, feeding their young, or making their way to the sea to fish. The reserve also includes a modern interpretation center that provides detailed information about the life of the penguins, their migration routes, and the challenges of their conservation.
