- In summer, the ski slopes transform into beautiful hiking trails to the glacial lakes.
- Solar radiation at over 2000 meters is extreme, never forget strong sunscreen.
🍽 Food
Warm up after skiing with this Andorran stew in one of the station's mountain restaurants.
Look for the famous Refugi del Llac de Pessons, where excellent meat is grilled.
A hearty cabbage and potato dish with bacon, first-rate for cold winter days in the slope bistros.
🛍 Shopping · 🧘 Quiet spots
Right at the station there are excellent shops to rent or buy missing equipment.
In case you forgot gloves or a hat, you will find quick replacements in the station shops.
In summer, leave the main trails for a breathtakingly quiet hike through the lake basin.
If you arrive early at the parking lot, enjoy the complete silence before the lifts start.

Grau Roig is a major ski sector and a scenic mountain area within the Grandvalira resort, located in the parish of Encamp. It stands out as the only sector in Grandvalira without a permanent residential village, preserving a pristine alpine atmosphere. The base area sits at an elevation of over 2,100 meters, surrounded by majestic peaks such as Pic de Montmalús. Historically, Grau Roig served as a vital passage for smugglers and shepherds before its development for winter sports began in the 1970s. During the summer months, the region transforms into a hub for high-altitude hiking and mountain biking, with the Pessons glacial cirque lakes being a top destination. The local architecture is focused on functional ski facilities and the luxury Hotel Grau Roig, designed to blend with the natural surroundings. Its geographic isolation makes it an excellent spot for stargazing and observing local wildlife, including chamois and marmots.
