Bab al-Yemen, meaning the "Gate of Yemen," is the main entrance to the historic Old City of Sana'a, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The current structure dates back to the 17th century and was significantly renovated during the first Ottoman occupation, though the site itself is over 1000 years old. The gate is a masterpiece of traditional Yemeni architecture, constructed from fired bricks and stone, adorned with geometric patterns and a monumental archway.
