Ha Long Bay (Vietnam)

Weather…

Ha Long Bay in northern Vietnam is one of the world's most spectacular natural landscapes and has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1994. Across an area of approximately 1,500 square kilometers, nearly 2,000 limestone islands and karst formations rise steeply from the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. Many of these islands house vast cave systems, dense jungles, and hidden lagoons. Legend states that a dragon created the bay by spitting jewels that transformed into islands to ward off invaders. Today, the bay is a major hub for tourism, famous for cruises on traditional junk boats. Beyond its scenic beauty, the region is ecologically significant, hosting numerous rare animal and plant species. Floating fishing villages, where people have lived on the water for generations, provide insight into a traditional way of life. Preserving this fragile ecosystem remains a constant challenge in the face of growing visitor numbers.
