Pskem Range (Uzbekistan)

Weather…

The Pskem Range is an imposing mountain chain in the Western Tien Shan, forming the border between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Stretching for about 160 kilometers, it contains some of the highest peaks in Uzbek territory, including Adelung Peak (4,301 meters) and Beshtor Peak (4,299 meters). The landscape is characterized by high alpine summits, perennial snowfields, and small glaciers that serve as the headwaters for numerous mountain streams. these waters feed into the Pskem River, a primary tributary of the Charvak Reservoir. Vegetation consists mostly of mountain meadows and scrubland, with the upper elevations being largely barren and rocky. Geologically, the range is dominated by crystalline schists, sandstones, and granites. Due to the extreme altitudes and rugged terrain, the region is sparsely populated and serves primarily as a vital nature conservation area and a site for demanding mountaineering expeditions.
