Kaz Dağları National Park, historically known as Mount Ida, is located in northwestern Turkey, straddling the border between Balıkesir and Çanakkale provinces. The mountain range peaks at Karataş Hill with an elevation of 1,774 meters, separating the Aegean coast from the Marmara region. In Greek mythology, Mount Ida is a site of immense significance, renowned as the setting for the 'Judgment of Paris' and the location from which the gods observed the Trojan War. Established as a national park in 1994, the area is celebrated for its exceptionally high oxygen levels and rich biodiversity, including the endemic Trojan Fir. The park features a diverse landscape of dense forests, steep canyons like Şahinderesi, and scenic waterfalls such as Sütüven and Hasanboğuldu.
