Ao Phang Nga National Park is a remarkable feature of the geography and culture of Thailand. A bay dotted with emerald limestone towers rising vertically from the water. Getting there
The pretty bay is predominantly accessed by boat from the nearby ports in Phuket or Krabi. There are countless operators offering both traditional longtail boats and modern speedboats for day trips into this marine national park.
Best season
The optimal travel time typically falls in the drier months between late autumn and early spring, when the sea is calm. During the summer rainy season, strong winds and waves can make boat tours significantly less pleasant and sometimes dangerous.
Terrain & paths
The landscape is characterized by majestic karst cliffs rising steeply from the emerald green water and hidden marine caves. Direct movement takes place almost exclusively by water, with shore excursions often limited to small, crowded beaches.
What to bring
