Wufeng Lin Family Mansion (Taiwan)

Weather…

The Wufeng Lin Family Mansion and Garden in Taichung is one of the most prominent examples of traditional Chinese residential architecture in Taiwan. The extensive complex consists of several building groups constructed between the mid-19th century and the early 20th century. The Lin family was one of the most influential dynasties in Taiwan, playing a crucial role in the island's political and economic history during the Qing era. The estate is divided into three main sections: the Upper Residence, the Lower Residence, and the Laiyuan Garden. A highlight of the mansion is the Grand Tea House, featuring a magnificent outdoor theater stage renowned for its intricate wood carvings and animated decorations. Although the massive 1999 Jiji earthquake caused severe damage, the complex underwent a meticulous restoration process to preserve its heritage and showcase the exquisite craftsmanship of the period.
