Lutry is located in the canton of Vaud and is a gem on the Swiss Riviera. The municipality extends from the shores of Lake Geneva up to the steep terraces of the Lavaux vineyards. The history of the place dates back to Roman times, as indicated by the Latin name Lustriacum. In the Middle Ages, Lutry was an important market town under the rule of the Bishops of Lausanne. The well-preserved historic town center with its narrow streets, Lutry Castle, and the late Gothic Church of Saint-Martin bears witness to this rich past. Since 2007, part of the municipal territory has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Economically, viticulture plays a central role, with the Chasselas grape being the main variety cultivated. The port of Lutry is a popular meeting point for sailors and provides a magnificent promenade. The architecture is characterized by grand winegrowers' houses and modern villas on the slopes overlooking the lake and the Alps. Culturally, the Fete des Vendanges in autumn is a highlight, attracting thousands of visitors. Thanks to its excellent connection to Lausanne, Lutry is also a sought-after residential location for commuters who appreciate the Mediterranean flair and high quality of life.
