Sofiero Palace (Sweden)

Weather…

Sofiero Palace, located just north of Helsingborg, was once a beloved royal summer residence and is now globally renowned for its extraordinary gardens. Built in 1864 for Prince Oscar and his wife Sophia of Nassau, it was later expanded in 1876 into its current Dutch Renaissance-inspired appearance. The estate gained its botanical significance under Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf and his wife Margaret, who meticulously designed the gardens in the early 20th century. Sofiero is most famous for its vast collection of over 10,000 rhododendrons, featuring hundreds of species that bloom vibrantly in the park's ravines each spring. The palace building now serves as a museum and a center for art and design exhibitions, while the grounds host major concerts and annual flower shows. In 2010, the park was voted the most beautiful park in Europe, highlighting its exceptional horticultural maintenance and design. Its position along the Öresund strait provides visitors with impressive views of the Danish coastline.
