💡 Tips
- The main beach, Playa de Silgar, is Blue Flag rated but can get very crowded in July and August. For more tranquility, visit nearby beaches like Montalvo or Canelas.
- Due to its popularity, it's advisable to book accommodation and restaurants, especially for dinner, well in advance, particularly in peak season.
- Parking in the center of Sanxenxo can be difficult in the summer. Use the public car parks on the outskirts of town and walk to the center.
- The nightlife is concentrated in the area around the marina (Puerto Deportivo). Here you will find numerous bars and clubs open until the early hours.
- Consider taking a boat trip to the nearby Ons Island, part of the Atlantic Islands National Park. Ferries leave regularly from the port.

A classic Galician tapa of small green peppers, fried in olive oil and sprinkled with coarse salt. The fun is that most are mild, but occasionally one will be spicy ('unos pican y otros no').

Water temperature…
Sanxenxo has evolved from a quiet fishing village into Galicia's most exclusive seaside resort. The heart of the town is Silgar Beach, a golden crescent of sand lined by a bustling promenade where locals and visitors stroll at sunset. The modern Juan Carlos I Marina hosts hundreds of yachts and serves as the main gateway for boat trips to the pristine Ons Islands, part of the Atlantic Islands National Park. Behind its modern skyline, the town maintains deep maritime traditions. The streets surrounding the old port are home to exceptional seafood restaurants serving the daily catch from the Ría de Pontevedra. Sanxenxo is a premier destination for water sports; sailing, windsurfing, and diving are incredibly popular. The nearby Lanzada Beach is particularly famous as a hotspot for surfers from across Europe. The local microclimate is milder than in the rest of Galicia, making it a good destination for much of the year. In August, the town reaches its peak energy with numerous festivals and a high-end nightlife scene. For a quieter stay, June or September are first-rate. It is conveniently connected to Pontevedra by a fast highway, making the journey only 20 minutes.
