Anse Kerlan lies at the northwestern tip of Praslin and is one of the quietest stretches of coast on the island. The long fine sandy beach is punctuated by offshore granite boulders and is one of the most important nesting grounds in the inner Seychelles for the hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata). During the season from October to February, female turtles come ashore at night to lay their eggs in the sand under the strict supervision of the conservation authorities. To the west, Anse Kerlan borders the exclusive Constance Lemuria Resort, which hosts the only 18-hole golf course in the Seychelles. Thanks to its western orientation, the beach features spectacular sunsets with views over the open sea. Surf can be strong during the southeast monsoon season, attracting surfers and experienced swimmers. Behind the beach lie small Creole farms and coconut plantations representing one of the last preserved plantation structures on Praslin.
