St. Lucia Distillers (St. Lucia)

Weather…

St. Lucia Distillers is the island's sole remaining commercial rum distillery, located within the lush and fertile Roseau Valley. Its history dates back to 1972, when it was formed through the strategic merger of two local family distilleries, the Barnard family operation in Dennery and the Roseau factory. This consolidation allowed St. Lucian rum production to thrive in a competitive global market. Today, the distillery is famous for its award-winning spirits, including 'Chairman's Reserve', 'Admiral Rodney', and '1931'. What sets this distillery apart is its commitment to artisanal methods, utilizing traditional copper pot stills alongside continuous Coffey stills to produce a diverse array of rums with rich, complex characters. Visitors are welcome to tour the facility, where they can witness the entire process from molasses fermentation to aging in charred American oak casks. As a major exporter, the distillery is a vital pillar of the national economy and a guardian of the island's agricultural heritage. Surrounded by vast banana plantations, the site features a beautiful and fragrant look into the heart of St. Lucia’s industry.
