Inema Arts Center (Rwanda)

Weather…

Inema Arts Center was founded in 2012 by brothers and self-taught painters Emmanuel Nkuranga and Innocent Nkurunziza. It has quickly become a central hub for the contemporary art scene in Kigali. The center houses the studios of ten resident artists, offering a wide range of creative expressions, including painting, sculpture, mixed media, and traditional crafts. Besides the gallery, which exhibits and sells the works of the resident artists, Inema also hosts workshops, training for disadvantaged youth, and cultural events like traditional dance and drumming performances. It's a bustling space that connects art, culture, and community, giving both locals and visitors an insight into Rwanda's animated creativity.
