Gura Vitioarei is a commune located in Prahova County, in the Teleajen River valley, within the hilly area of the Curvature Subcarpathians. The settlement was first documented in the 16th century and is situated in the immediate vicinity of the town of Vălenii de Munte. The local economy is primarily based on agriculture, fruit growing, and livestock farming, taking advantage of the terrain favorable for plum and apple orchards. The commune consists of five villages: Bughea de Jos, Făget, Fundeni, Gura Vitioarei, and Poiana Copăceni. Geographically, the locality benefits from a strategic position along the DN1A national road, which connects Ploiești to Brașov through the Bratocea Pass. The temperate-continental climate and the hilly natural landscapes define the rural and peaceful character of this Prahova settlement. In recent years, significant investments have been made in modernizing local infrastructure and educational institutions to support the quality of life.
