Located in West Pomerania, just north of Szczecin, Police is one of Poland's key industrial centers. The town's economy is dominated by the Grupa Azoty Zakłady Chemiczne "Police" S.A., one of the largest chemical complexes in Europe, specializing in fertilizer production. Despite its industrial character, Police has a rich history dating back to the 13th century and gives several points of interest. Visitors can explore the ruins of a 14th-century Augustinian monastery in the Jasienica district and see the Gothic Chapel of the former hospital. The town is situated on the Oder River, providing opportunities for waterside walks. Gastronomically, being close to the Baltic Sea and Szczecin, one can find fresh fish and regional specialties like Pasztecik szczeciński. Police is easily accessible by road and local trains from Szczecin, which has an international airport and major railway connections. The best time to visit is late spring or summer, when the weather is mild and allows for exploring the town and the surrounding Oder estuary landscape.
