Nowa Dęba is a relatively young town in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship in southeastern Poland. It was founded in the 1930s as part of the ambitious Central Industrial Region (Centralny Okręg Przemysłowy) project, designed to strengthen Polish industry. To this day, the town remains an important center for the metal and defense industries. However, the real appeal for visitors lies in the town's unique location in the middle of the Sandomierz Forest (Puszcza Sandomierska), one of Poland's largest forest areas. This vast forest provides countless opportunities for outdoor activities. Visitors can hike and cycle on kilometers of trails, observe the rich flora and fauna, or collect mushrooms and berries in late summer and autumn. A popular nearby destination is Lake Tarnobrzeg, a large artificial lake excellent for swimming and water sports. Culturally, Nowa Dęba features a museum dedicated to the history of the region and the Central Industrial Region. The local cuisine is hearty and reflects the traditions of the Subcarpathian region. Getting to Nowa Dęba is easiest by car via the well-developed road network. The nearest international airport is in Rzeszów (RZE), about 60 kilometers away. The best time to visit is summer for lake activities and early autumn when the forest is ablaze with color and the mushroom season begins.
