Mysłowice is one of the most historic cities in the Upper Silesian Industrial District, situated at the confluence of the White and Black Przemsza rivers. Granted city rights in 1360, it achieved global recognition in the 19th century as the location of the "Three Emperors' Corner." This point marked the intersection of the borders of the German Empire, Austria-Hungary, and the Russian Empire, making Mysłowice a vital border crossing and emigration hub. Industrial growth was primarily driven by coal mining, with the "Myslowitz" mine long considered one of the region's most advanced facilities. Today, the city is transitioning from its heavy industrial past into a modern center for services and logistics. Mysłowice maintains a rich cultural heritage preserved in the Central Mining Museum and the historic architecture of its Old Town. In recent decades, the city has also become a prominent center for the Polish independent music scene.
