Babusar Top
Babusar Top is a spectacular mountain pass at an elevation of 4,173 meters, marking the end of the Kaghan Valley and serving as the gateway to the Gilgit region. The pass is famous for its dramatic hairpin turns and vast panoramic vistas. On clear days, the majestic Nanga Parbat, the world's ninth-highest mountain, can be seen in the far distance. The environment around the pass is one of raw alpine beauty, with snow-covered slopes often lasting into summer and cold mountain winds constantly blowing. It is a popular stop for travelers heading north to capture photos and enjoy the crisp, thin air. The area is uninhabited but provides summer grazing lands for nomadic herders. The pass is only accessible during the summer months (June to September), as it remains buried under heavy snow throughout the winter. The road is well-paved but requires careful driving due to its steep inclines. Small tea stalls at the summit offer hot chai, a welcome treat in the chilly mountain breeze.
