Weather…

Mardan is the second-largest city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a premier archaeological hub. It is most famous for Takht-i-Bahi, a memorable 1st-century Buddhist monastic complex perched on a hilltop. This UNESCO World Heritage site provides deep insights into the Gandhara civilization and the early spread of Buddhism. The surrounding plains are exceptionally fertile, serving as the center for sugar cane production in Pakistan. Mardan is also known for its strong military heritage and legendary Pashtun hospitality. Food lovers should definitely try the local 'Mardan Chapli Kebab,' a spicy meat specialty famous throughout the region. Conveniently located along the M-1 motorway, Mardan is easily accessible from Peshawar or Islamabad. The convenient time to visit is from November to March when the weather is mild. In addition to the ruins, the Mardan Museum gives an excellent collection of Gandhara artifacts and ancient statues.
