Uvs Lake

Uvs Lake is Mongolia's largest lake by surface area and the centerpiece of the Uvs Nuur Basin, a UNESCO World Heritage site. As a terminal lake with no outlet, its water is highly saline, a remnant of a prehistoric sea. The surrounding landscape is a dramatic blend of desert dunes, salt marshes, and the distant silhouettes of the Altai Mountains.
