The best time to observe sea turtles at La Ventanilla is during the nesting and hatching season from June to November. During these months, females come ashore at night to lay their eggs, and the hatchlings emerge about two months later.

Night tours are the only way to see nesting turtles - tours typically start after dark. Early-morning walks in the mangrove area also offer good chances to spot birds and crocodiles.
Etiquette
During night tours, use only red-light flashlights to avoid blinding the turtles. Do not touch the animals or stand between the female and the sea, as this may disrupt the nesting process.
