The Bugibba Jetty serves as a primary hub for maritime tourism in northern Malta, acting as a major departure point for boat excursions to Gozo and Comino. Located near the bustling Bugibba Square, the jetty has expanded significantly since the regional tourism boom began in the 1970s. Numerous tour operators operate daily from this point, ferrying visitors to the Blue Lagoon or the nearby St. Paul’s Islands. Its position within St. Paul’s Bay provides shelter from prevailing westerly winds, ensuring stable operations for most of the year. The surrounding area is densely populated with diving schools and water sports providers, contributing to the local economy. The infrastructure includes reinforced concrete piers capable of accommodating large passenger catamarans alongside smaller moorings for traditional fishing vessels. The jetty remains a critical asset for the hospitality sector in the St. Paul’s Bay district.
