The original mausoleum was likely built in the 14th century but was destroyed by an earthquake and rebuilt several times over the centuries, most recently in the 18th century. The current building consists of a large portal with two minarets, a mosque, and the tomb of Arystan Bab. Many pilgrims traveling to Turkistan to visit Yasawi's mausoleum make their first stop here to ask for his teacher's blessing. The site exudes a tranquil and spiritual atmosphere and is a deeply revered place in Kazakh culture.
