Bayanaul National Park (Kazakhstan)

Weather…

Bayanaul National Park, located in the Pavlodar Region, was established in 1985 as the first national park in Kazakhstan. It lies on the edge of the Kazakh steppe and covers an area of approximately 684 square kilometers within the Bayanaul Mountains. The landscape is characterized by pine forests, unique granite formations, and clear mountain lakes such as Lake Jasybay. Thousands of years of erosion have shaped remarkable rock structures, the most famous being 'Kempirtas' (Old Woman Rock). The park is home to a wide variety of plant species, including many endemics, and animals such as the argali sheep and the Eurasian lynx. In addition to its natural beauty, Bayanaul is known for its archaeological sites and caves, which point to a long history of human habitation. The area is considered a sacred site in Kazakh culture and is closely linked to the history of prominent scholars.
