💡 Tips

  • During summer, book your sunbed at the private beach clubs ('bagni') at least a day in advance as they fill up quickly.
  • Rent a bicycle to ride the mostly flat coastal cycle path towards Imperia for spectacular and easy coastal views.
  • Take the local bus or drive up to Diano Castello; it's much cooler and quieter than the bustling seaside area.
  • Save money on parking by looking for the white-lined spaces slightly inland from the main promenade, though you need to arrive early.

Diano Marina is situated on the Riviera dei Fiori in western Liguria, surrounded by hills covered in olive groves. The town's grid-like street layout is a result of a complete reconstruction following a devastating earthquake in 1887. Unlike many rocky areas of the Ligurian coast, Diano Marina features a wide, sandy shoreline along the Golfo Dianese. The seafront promenade connects various bathing establishments and public sections, such as "Spiaggia Libera Attrezzata Al Mappamondo" and "La Baia Beach". The area is highly agricultural inland, focusing on the production of Taggiasca olive oil and local Vermentino wine. The eastern edge of the bay leads towards "Spiaggia Galeazza" and "Spiaggia Il Faro", where the terrain becomes rockier. "Sogni d'Estate" features further waterfront access. The historic core around the Church of Sant'Antonio Abate provides a pedestrian zone with shops and regional restaurants.
