Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (Indonesia)

Weather…

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) is an extensive cultural park located in East Jakarta, covering approximately 150 hectares and designed to showcase the vast cultural diversity of the Indonesian archipelago. It was inaugurated in 1975 under the patronage of Siti Hartinah, the wife of former President Suharto, with the aim of preserving and displaying the national heritage and traditions of the country's numerous ethnic groups. The park features over 30 pavilions, each representing an Indonesian province and displaying its distinct architecture through authentic traditional houses known as Rumah Adat. At the center of the grounds lies a large man-made lake containing a scaled-down map of the Indonesian islands. Beyond the ethnological exhibits, the complex includes various specialized museums dedicated to technology, transport, and natural history, as well as a large bird park and an IMAX theater. Today, TMII remains a vital educational destination and a popular site for both domestic and international tourists seeking a comprehensive overview of Indonesia's cultural landscape.
