Devgad is a gem on the Konkan Coast in the Sindhudurg district. The town is primarily known for two things: its delicious Alphonso mangoes, considered the best in the world, and the majestic Devgad Fort, which sits on a hill overlooking the Arabian Sea. The fort gives a spectacular panoramic view of the harbor and the vast coastline. The beaches of Devgad are clean, spacious, and often deserted. Devgarh Beach is the town's main beach, known for its soft sand and calm surf. For adventurers, PHANSE BEACH and PADAVANE BEACH offer untouched natural experiences away from any commercialization. TARUMUMBARI BEACH and KOHL BEACH are other beautiful sections convenient for dolphin watching or simply relaxing under casuarina trees. Culinary-wise, Devgad is a paradise for lovers of Malvani cuisine, famous for its spicy fish curries and coconut-based sauces. A visit during the mango season (March to June) is a special experience. The town is well accessible by road and has an authentic Indian coastal experience combining nature, history, and excellent gastronomy.
