West Buffalo Hill

West Buffalo Hill, standing at 604 meters, is a prominent peak in Hong Kong's New Territories, forming a majestic twin-summit massif alongside Buffalo Hill. Located on the boundary between Sha Tin and Sai Kung districts, it is a favored destination for hikers seeking a more rugged and rewarding ascent compared to urban trails. The hill is geologically composed of robust granite, which has weathered over time into striking outcrops, most notably the 'Buffalo Rock' that gives the mountain its name. Reaching the summit grants hikers an impressive 360-degree panoramic view; to the east lies the emerald waters and scattered islands of Sai Kung's Port Shelter, while the west overlooks the sprawling urban skyline of Sha Tin and the winding Shing Mun River.
