Hung Hom is a bustling district on the southeastern tip of the Kowloon Peninsula, known for its strategic importance in Hong Kong’s transportation network and its rich maritime history. The area was formerly home to the massive Whampoa Dock, which in its heyday was the largest shipyard in Asia; today, this heritage is celebrated by "The Whampoa," a giant cruise-ship-shaped shopping mall that sits at the heart of the Whampoa Garden residential complex. Hung Hom is also home to the Hong Kong Coliseum, an iconic pyramid-shaped indoor arena that is the city’s premier venue for international concerts and major sporting events.
