Planos is situated on the northeastern coast of Zakynthos island and is a well-suited destination for travelers seeking a balance between tranquility and entertainment. The village merges almost seamlessly with the more famous Tsilivi resort, yet it retains its own distinct, village-like charm. The landscape is characterized by olive groves and vineyards that stretch nearly to the shores of the Ionian Sea. A major highlight of the region is Amboula Beach, a quieter stretch of coastline with crystal-clear waters, great for families and snorkeling enthusiasts. The beach provides a relaxed alternative to the island's busier main beaches. In Planos, visitors will find an excellent selection of traditional Greek tavernas serving local specialties such as moussaka or freshly caught fish. The infrastructure is well-developed, with numerous small shops, bars, and cafes. Connectivity to Zakynthos Town is excellent, making day trips to the capital's cultural sights very easy. Despite tourist development, Planos has managed to preserve a certain authenticity, which becomes especially palpable in the evenings when locals and guests gather in the characterful streets.
