Weather…

Lake Bostal (Bostalsee) in northern Saarland is the largest leisure lake in southwestern Germany and a premier recreational destination within the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park. It was artificially created in the 1970s by damming the Bos stream with a 500-meter-long embankment. With a surface area of approximately 120 hectares, the lake provides extensive facilities for water sports, including sailing, windsurfing, paddle boating, and fishing. A 6.8-kilometer circular trail for hiking and cycling surrounds the lake; its flat terrain makes it particularly popular for families and inline skaters. During the summer, two large beach resorts with sandy shores and spacious lawns provide ample space for swimming and sunbathing. The area is anchored by the Center Parcs Park Bostalsee and a large campsite, making the region a significant hub for tourism. Beyond recreation, the lake fulfills an important ecological role as a habitat for various waterfowl and fish species.
