Rödermark is a thriving city in the Offenbach district of Hesse, positioned within the expansive Rhine-Main metropolitan area. Established in 1977 after the merger of Ober-Roden and Urberach, the city represents a blend of historical suburban charm and modern economic vitality. A unique geographical highlight is its location on the 50th parallel north, which is physically marked in the city as a point of interest. Historically, Urberach was known for its pottery and brick-making industries, while Ober-Roden was a more agricultural settlement. Today, the economy is dominated by high-tech firms, logistics, and IT services. Cultural life in Rödermark is centered around the 'Kelterscheune' and a variety of local clubs that foster a strong sense of community. Its position between the major cities of Frankfurt and Darmstadt makes it a preferred residential location for professionals, while the nearby Messel Pit UNESCO site and the rolling hills of the Odenwald provide ample recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
