Rodgau is located in the Offenbach district of Hessen, right in the heart of the Rhine-Main metropolitan area. The city was officially established in 1977 as part of a regional reform, merging the five formerly independent villages of Weiskirchen, Hainhausen, Jügesheim, Dudenhofen, and Nieder-Roden. Geographically, it sits in a fertile plain between the river Main and the Odenwald forest, offering a high quality of life with plenty of green spaces. Its location is convenient for commuters, with excellent S-Bahn connections and proximity to the A3 motorway. Economically, Rodgau is a hub for small to medium-sized enterprises and logistics companies. The city is famous for its large outdoor bathing lake, the 'Rodgau Strandbad,' which is a top summer destination for residents of the entire region. Culturally, the city was put on the map by the famous rock band 'Rodgau Monotones.' Today, Rodgau represents a well-suited blend of suburban comfort, economic stability, and recreational opportunities.
