Getting there
The cliffs are best accessed from the village of Tumani Tenda, reached via a dirt track off the main South Bank Road. Many visitors utilize local pirogues (boats) for access from the river side.
Best season
The dry season from November to May is good as tracks are firm and humidity is lower. During the rainy season, vegetation can become very dense, making access to overland viewpoints more challenging.
Terrain & paths
The terrain consists of eroded laterite cliffs that drop steeply to the Gambia River. Paths atop the cliffs can be uneven, while the riverbank areas vary from muddy to overgrown depending on tides and the season.
What to bring
Lightweight clothing and comfortable walking shoes are advised for exploring the cliffside paths. Insect repellent is essential due to the proximity to the river and marshes, as is a camera for the scenic views.

Parking is usually available within Tumani Tenda village or at the local eco-tourism camp. Capacity is limited, so it is best to leave your vehicle at designated spots in the village and continue on foot.
