Vaiare is a small settlement on the west coast of Moorea, French Polynesia, known for Vaiare Beach, a fine white sand beach. The village is the site of Moorea's main ferry port, connecting the island to Tahiti. Ferries depart multiple times daily, bringing tourists and goods to the island. Vaiare's economy relies heavily on the port and tourism. Several small guesthouses and restaurants are nearby. The lagoon is shallow, excellent for water sports such as windsurfing and kayaking. Historically, Vaiare was a quiet fishing village before the port was built in the 1960s. The local population is about 400 people. Agriculture plays a minor role as most land is used for port operations. The surroundings feature dense greenery and palm trees. An annual port festival celebrates the connection to the sea.
The most pleasant time to visit is Jul–Sep.
