Teavaro is a village on the east coast of Moorea, French Polynesia, near Haapiti Bay. The settlement is surrounded by lush plantations where mainly pineapple, vanilla, and coconuts are grown. Teavaro is known for Teavaro Beach, a white sand beach with calm waters well-suited for swimming and snorkeling. Historically, the area was part of the Kingdom of Moorea, annexed by the French in the 19th century. The local economy relies on agriculture, tourism, and traditional outrigger canoe building. Teavaro's population is about 500 people living in a close-knit community. Infrastructure includes a small church, a primary school, and a community center. Proximity to Moorea Airport (about 10 km) makes Teavaro a popular starting point for island exploration. The lagoon hosts stingrays and colorful reef fish. An annual festival celebrates the vanilla harvest.
