The Notre Dame de Fatima Church is a striking landmark located in the village of Paopao on the northern coast of Moorea. Set against the dramatic backdrop of lush, jagged mountain peaks and overlooking the crystal-clear waters of Cook's Bay, the church is famous for its distinctive pale blue exterior. As the primary Catholic place of worship on the island, it holds deep cultural and religious significance for the local community. Inside, the sanctuary features beautiful stained glass windows that bathe the interior in a spectrum of colors when the tropical sun shines through. Visitors are drawn to its serene atmosphere and the sweeping views from the church grounds, making it one of the most photographed spots on Moorea. It serves as a first-rate example of how colonial religious architecture has been embraced and maintained within the striking natural environment of French Polynesia.
