Sainte-Pazanne is a dynamic town located in the heart of the Pays de Retz, in the Loire-Atlantique department. Its most defining feature is the soaring 67-meter spire of the Notre-Dame church, which holds the record as the tallest in the entire department and serves as a navigational beacon for the surrounding plains. The town's growth has been fueled by its strategic location on the railway line connecting Nantes to the Atlantic resorts of Pornic and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. Historically, Sainte-Pazanne has been a welcoming stop for pilgrims on the Way of St. James, specifically the coastal Soulac route. The local landscape is a mix of agricultural fields and prestigious vineyards, forming part of the Muscadet wine-producing region. Economically, it has successfully transitioned into a residential hub for the Nantes metropolitan area while maintaining a strong local identity through its weekly markets, traditional crafts, and bustling community associations. The town gives a high quality of life with extensive green spaces and modern public amenities.
