Jardin des Tuileries (France)

Weather…

The Jardin des Tuileries is located in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, positioned between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde. Originally commissioned in 1564 by Catherine de' Medici for the Tuileries Palace, it reached its current form after a major redesign by André Le Nôtre in 1664. As a prime example of the French formal garden, it features strict symmetry, sweeping vistas, and elaborate water basins. Following the French Revolution, the garden was declared a public space in 1791 and has remained a popular promenade ever since. The park houses two notable art institutions, the Musée de l'Orangerie and the Jeu de Paume, and displays an extensive collection of modern sculptures by artists such as Auguste Rodin. Since 1991, it has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site as part of the banks of the Seine.
