Paris-Sud covers the southern arrondissements on the Left Bank, specifically the 13th, 14th, and 15th districts. This expansive area provides a unique blend of intellectual history, artistic legacy, and contemporary urban innovation. Geographically, it is bounded by the Seine River to the north and the Peripherique ring road to the south. Historically, the Montparnasse district was the epicenter of global artistic life in the 1920s, hosting figures like Picasso and Hemingway in its legendary brasseries. Notable landmarks include the Paris Catacombs, the towering Tour Montparnasse, and the photogenic Parc Montsouris. The district also hosts the Cite Internationale Universitaire de Paris, a sprawling campus housing thousands of international students in architecturally diverse pavilions. Infrastructure is anchored by major hubs like the Gare Montparnasse and Gare d'Austerlitz, facilitating travel to the west and south of France. Today, Paris-Sud is a thriving residential and business area, featuring the futuristic architecture of the National Library and the spirited Asian quarter in the 13th arrondissement.
