Linselles is a pleasant French town located in the Nord department, within the Hauts-de-France region. It is situated just north of the Lille metropolis, near the borders of Bondues and Roncq, and only a short distance from Belgium. Historically, Linselles was a rural community that grew significantly during the industrial revolution thanks to its involvement in the textile trade, specifically flax spinning and weaving. The town is also noted for the Battle of Linselles in 1793, where French forces fought British and Dutch troops. The town center is characterized by traditional northern French architecture, including the notable Church of the Nativity of Our Lady with its distinctive spire. Today, Linselles has transitioned into a highly desirable residential suburb of Lille, favored for its calm environment and excellent amenities. It has a blend of modern housing and preserved green spaces, including several small woods and parks. The local economy is supported by a mix of agriculture, small businesses, and its integration into the wider economic network of the Lille European Metropolis.
