Saint-Martin-des-Champs is a dynamic community in northern Finistère. Geographically situated on a high plateau above the Morlaix river, it serves as the western gateway to the town of Morlaix. Originally an agricultural parish, the town has developed rapidly since the 1960s and is now home to significant commercial zones and shopping centers that serve the entire region. The economy benefits greatly from its position along the N12 expressway, connecting Rennes and Brest. Despite this economic vigor, Saint-Martin-des-Champs has preserved valuable green spaces, particularly in the Queffleuth valley. The architecture features a blend of historic farmsteads, the striking town hall, and modern housing developments. The town plays a central role within the Morlaix Communauté intercommunal partnership and stands as a key educational and service hub for the Léon territory.
