Le Relecq-Kerhuon is a coastal community in the Finistère department, situated on the eastern shores of the Roadstead of Brest in Brittany. The town's name reflects its dual heritage, combining the monastic origins of Le Relecq with the maritime traditions of the fishing village of Kerhuon. Located at the mouth of the Elorn River, it is framed by the impressive Iroise and Albert-Louppe bridges. Historically, the town was a hub for naval support and featured a significant gunpowder factory in the 19th century. Today, it is best known for the Vallon du Stang-Alar, home to the National Botanical Conservatory, which preserves one of the world's most important collections of endangered flora. The town features a high quality of life with its scenic coastal paths, beaches, and lively Breton culture. It serves as a popular residential area for those working in Brest, providing a first-rate mix of urban proximity and natural seaside beauty.
